Audinate Dante Now Supported In More Than 3,000 Devices

by | Audio, News, Production

Audinate has announced that there are more than 3,000 products incorporating its Dante digital audio networking protocol. This announcement comes according to data provided by UK-based audio consultancy RH Consulting. They’ve been counting networked audio products and licensees since 2013.

Specifically, RH Consulting reports that as of January 2021, there are currently 3,034 Dante-enabled devices available from 361 different manufacturers. In addition, Audinate reported in January that the total number of OEM brands now working with Dante has reached 518, with 133 OEMs currently developing their first Dante-enabled products.

“It’s inspiring to see how many manufacturers and product lines have aligned around Dante,” says Joshua Rush, SVP of Marketing at Audinate. “And with 133 OEMs working on their first Dante-enabled product, it’s exciting to think about how much more the number will grow. This milestone shows how important Dante has become in creating an interoperable audio ecosystem.”

The Dante protocol is designed to enable the distribution of hundreds of uncompressed, multi-channel digital audio channels via standard Ethernet networks. It also allows audio, control, and all other data to coexist on the same network.

Audinate states that it is continuing to develop approaches for manufacturers to incorporate Dante into their product lines, with recent developments that include the Dante Broadway chip, Dante Embedded Platform software implementation, Dante Ultimo chip, and Dante Brooklyn II module.
