Martin Audio Announces Additions & Upgraded Voicing To CDD Installation Series

by | Audio, Gear, News, Production

Martin Audio has announced new additions and upgraded voicing for its CDD series of installation loudspeakers, as well as improved production capacity. CDD, original launched in 2015, combines distinctive curved enclosures with the company’s patented Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology. Martin Audio has further extended the range in ensuing years with both weatherized and marine editions for all outdoor environments.

Specifically, the CDD series now includes transformer variants of the 8 and 10-inch models, with 70/100-volt transformer options, enabling daisy chaining of loudspeakers for increased amplifier efficiency in larger installation projects.

Managing Director Dom Harter explains, “We’ve seen increased requests for additional transformer versions to complement the current 5 and 6-inch transformer models, as larger-scale projects are all about efficiency of the installation.”

There are also more weatherized variants, and the new DSP voicing settings across the series are designed to provide an up-to-date sound and consistency among all models. These settings are available to complement any amplifier, and in addition, there are also new FIR-based presets for iKON amplifiers and the DX4.0 controller.

The increased production capacity has been achieved through improved sourcing of suppliers as well as changing the 12 and 15-inch models from the normal UPM Formi cabinet construction to wooden cabinets. “The 12 and 15-inch models in particular have always seen capacity constraints,” Harter notes, “so by moving to wooden enclosures using innovative bended wood techniques, we’ve not only been able to retain the classic aesthetics of the CDD design and performance, but now have the capability to increase production by ten-fold.”

The new voicing settings for are available for download now, while wooden cabinet changes are available from January and the transformer additions to follow in February.

“We’re delighted to extend and improve our best-selling CDD series as well as increase the production capacity to maximize its absolute sales potential as we see increased demand of small to medium installation projects at this time,” Harter concludes.
