Elation Announces New Pixel Tape 16IP and 40IP Decorative Lighting

by | Gear, Lighting, News, Production, Video

Elation has introduced new Pixel Tape 16IP and Pixel Tape 40IP, both flexible, IP65-rated LED pixel tape with RGB SMD tri-color LED pixels that are capable of producing more than 1 billion color possibilities and spread light at a 120-degree viewing angle.

The IP65-rated conformal coating helps foster safe use in any type of weather or environmental condition while also protecting the LEDs for indoor applications. Each is constructed using a rugged UV-protected silicone casing, offering a thin yet robust, low-profile design with a bright yet low heat output.

Both the Pixel Tape 16IP and Pixel Tape 40IP use industry standard 4-pin XLR connectors for power/control input and are well suited for integration into stage scenic elements, to accentuate outdoor architecture and to customize lighting for events. Various mounting channels and diffused cover options are available to customize to any setting.

The Pixel Tape 16IP has the same pixel spacing as Elation’s Pixel Bar series. It comes in a 2.7-meter long (8.9 feet) by 14.5 mm wide (0.57 inch) LED pixel tape with 170 RGB SMD tri-color LED pixels spaced on 16-mm (0.69-inch) centers. The tape can be cut and extended every 25 mm (0.98 inch). The Pixel Tape 16IP emits 455 lumens of light with a low max power consumption of 35W and is ETL approved.

The Pixel Tape 40IP is a 6.8-meter long (22.3 feet) by 14.5 mm wide (0.57 inch) LED pixel tape featuring 170 RGB SMD tri-color LED pixels spaced on 40 mm (1.57 inch) centers. The tape can be cut and extended every 62 mm (2.44 inch). The Pixel Tape 40IP emits 475 lumens of light with a low max power consumption of 35W and is ETL approved.

The Pixel Tape 16IP and Pixel Tape 40IP use a total of 510 DMX channels per spool. They can be powered and controlled using Elation’s new Pixel Driver 170, Pixel Driver 1000IP or Pixel Driver 4000 V2 control drivers.
