Two New 8-Inch Models Join Wharfedale Pro Tourus Loudspeaker Series

by | Audio, Gear, News, Production

Wharfedale Pro has announced that two new 8-inch models have joined the Tourus series of active loudspeakers, the Tourus-AX8 and the USB/Bluetooth-enabled Tourus-AX8-MBT.

They join Tourus 12- and 15-inch models that were announced in 2020, and using the same design philosophy, they have ABS plastic cabinets designed for durability, joined by handles, rigging points and full-face steel grilles to protect the custom drivers and electronics.

Both new models also utilize 1.75-inch high-frequency compression drivers. The onboard class D amplification (biamp) is stated to provide 250 watts of continuous power, with convection cooling designed to promote long-term durability.

The Tourus-AX8-MBT model also brings the aforementioned Bluetooth connectivity, a USB input for direct mp3/wav file playback, and a TWS link mode for wire-free stereo pairing. Onboard connectors include RCA, XLR and 6.3 mm jack inputs.

They can be accompanied by the recently introduced T-Sub-AX15B active subwoofer for added low-frequency reinforcement.
