More than a switcher, KAIROS Core 1000 brings increased processing power and video production capabilities to broadcast, live events and sports industries

April 20, 2021 (NEWARK, NJ) – With virtual and hybrid events becoming the standard, the demand for the return of live events is growing. For broadcasters and production crews, this brings an array of delivery challenges. Audiences expect the same engaging experience, whether attending in-person or remotely. As a result, production teams need improved workflows and innovative production technology to allow for robust creation and distribution of high-quality content. This allows them to deliver immersive, meaningful connections with their audiences, no matter their location.

To significantly improve functionality for video production, rendering and distribution, Panasonic has announced new upgrades to KAIROS, its next generation live production platform. These upgrades include a more powerful mainframe option doubling the processing capacity for twice the total available layers/Keys. They also include an expansion in standard HD and 4K inputs/outputs and increased video and still image recording capacity.

“With its intuitive and user-friendly interface, KAIROS is fully customizable, encompasses everything needed to adapt to any live production scenario, and provides the tools needed to create a highly engaging and visually stimulating production,” said Michael Bergeron, senior category owner, production systems, Panasonic.” As venues are permitted to host in-person events again, Panasonic’s KAIROS system will be there to support AV teams [as they] connect with their audiences to create memorable experiences.”

The new KAIROS Core 1000 (AT-KC1000) mainframe option offers a higher performance CPU and GPU. Thereby, this increases the system’s video processing capacity and expanded HD and 4K inputs/outputs. It also enables the platform to be utilized in a wider range of more complex productions. Additionally, the new KAIROS core 1000 mainframe offers 4K support and a CANVAS function as standard feature. The Version 1.1 software allows less restricted use of the multi-layered video composition, output in high resolution including 8K video.

With the increased demand for hybrid remote video production, KAIROS Core 1000 expands RTP/SRT/RTMP streaming from six to eight inputs with two outputs. Furthermore, the platform features an increased recording capacity of video to 64 GB uncompressed RAM player capacity. 180 GB uncompressed clip player capacity and 12 GB of still images can be saved.
