Without Walls, a dynamic church located in Mesa, Arizona with a growing digital congregation and significant online presence, has selected DigitalGlue’s creative.space to store and manage its increasing content library. creative.space, an intuitive and powerful storage solution, equips Without Walls with the tools to centralize content and streamline collaboration. This empowers the church to seamlessly connect its message with a geographically dispersed audience while allowing the production team to focus more on creativity, family, and ministry.
Explained Jeff Watkins, Production Director for Without Walls. “COVID was our wake-up call. Pre-COVID, content for Without Walls was non-existent. We literally knew nothing about reaching worshippers remotely but knew it was our only option if we were to continue to touch people’s lives. Fast forward to 2024 and the church has reached more than 4.5 million people with its online offerings. That’s a lot of content to manage and we recognized the need for a more sophisticated storage system to organize and track the increased amount of content we now produce weekly.”
Determined to deliver an elevated level of excellence to their newfound and substantial online audience, Without Walls found creative.space at a RED Digital Cinema Demo Day event which highlights solutions that interoperate with RED cameras. “Luckily we found creative.space at a RED Demo Day and after several conversations I knew we needed this solution in a big way,” said Watkins. “The creative.space team’s organization and all the pre-install work far exceeded my expectations. We set aside three days to accommodate set-up though training, but only needed half that time. It was that easy. The team had an answer for everything. And if they didn’t, they found it. It’s centralized and on-premises, but it’s monitored by the DigitalGlue team remotely; they know if there is an issue before we do!”
The decision to choose creative.space was driven by its accessibility, time efficiency, and cost savings. The platform allows team members in different locations to collaborate on the same project simultaneously, ensuring faster access with virtually no latency. Currently, creative.space manages 192 terabytes of on-site storage for Without Walls, providing ample space to compartmentalize tasks and allocate resources efficiently—eliminating the need for additional drive purchases for years to come. Additionally, its seamless file transfer system enables Without Walls editors to reclaim 12 to 48 hours for creative work. “Using creative.space, there are more creative ideas flowing in meetings, for example,” Watkins says. “We did a merchandise shoot the other day. We’re doing a photo shoot today. There are so many other ministry projects to spend our time on as opposed to waiting on file transfers or tracking down files from years before.
Watkins concluded, “Since we had five years of content to navigate through, there’s still some transitioning happening on the creative side, but I haven’t had any negatives. There was plenty of time and plenty of communication spent to make sure our infrastructure and workflow was aligned, and the DigitalGlue team is still there every step of the way.”
