Electro-Voice has introduced the EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 Column Loudspeaker Systems. The two new members of the EVOLVE family come as a response to significant customer interest in a larger EVOLVE, and have been designed to bring impeccable audio quality and extreme output alongside ease of use and portability to professionals looking to cover larger gigs with audience sizes of up to 500 people.
With EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90, Electro-Voice has delivered a powerful portable solution for larger audiences. The EVOLVE family is a proven leader in portability and the EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 follow this tradition. Advanced materials combined with ergonomic design principles have been used throughout the system, ensuring that the acoustic performance exceeds customer expectations while also being the lightest and most portable models in their class. In fact, the EVOLVE 90, even with the column array class-leading 18” subwoofer, is lighter than some competing 15” models.
The powerful EVOLVE 70 delivers a maximum SPL of 133 dB and the EVOLVE 90 offers 134 dB. The EVOLVE 70 features a 15” subwoofer which takes low frequency extension down to 35 Hz. EVOLVE 90 offers the only 18” subwoofer in its class, taking its low frequency extension down to 28 Hz. This massive bass output, combined with the highly efficient laminar-flow vent design and large voice coils ensures premium audio performance that will make both systems a more versatile solution to cover a wider variety of performances and musical genres.
The new additions have been created to cater to the evolving needs of professional users including pro DJs, bands, production companies, event organizers, and venues. Building on the success and exceptional audio quality of the EVOLVE 50 and EVOLVE 30, these systems embody a premium solution that combines portability and a relatively compact form factor with massive output, waveguide-formed coverage providing the optimal balance of longer throw and wide horizontal pattern for bigger shows and events.
Ease of use was one of the key considerations for the Electro-Voice design team when it came to creating the new members of the EVOLVE family. Designed for rapid deployment, EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 both feature the EVOLVE 3-2-1 approach for assembly, which has set the standard in the industry for fast setup and teardown. As 3-2-1 promises, the three pieces fit together in two clicks to form one system.
Available in black and white finishes, EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 share many of the same features. Both offer eight 4.7” neodymium drivers for clear, powerful 120°-wide consistent coverage via propriety waveguides, with array-formed asymmetrical 25° vertical coverage. The new additions include ample connections for microphones, line level, bluetooth and digital signals increasing flexibility for accommodating nearly any professional Applications. These include XLR/TRS combo Mic-Line inputs, XLR and RCA line level inputs, and digital AES/EBU. Both the EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 are also integrated into the recently updated QuickSmart Mobile App ecosystem, which allows the user to control it as part of a system with other Bluetooth-enabled EV portable speakers.
EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 elevate the design of the EVOLVE family, relying on lightweight materials and ergonomic design principles to ensure maximum portability and the familiar striking look. An aluminum distance pole separates the tops from the subs, while the neodymium drivers and advanced materials keep the weight low. The included carrying case for the array and distance pole combined with an available accessory transport dolly ensure that EVOLVE’s reputation for portability is maintained.
