SARGENT Debuts New 8200 Series Mortise Lock with Motorized Electric Latch Retraction

SARGENT, an ASSA ABLOY Group brand, announces the addition of the new 8200 Series Motorized Electric Latch Retraction (56-) mortise locks to its offering of door hardware solutions. Purpose-built for demanding environments such as schools, hospitals, universities, and other venues where security is paramount, the 8200 Series MELR mortise locks are engineered to the highest industry standards to ensure compliance with durability and reliability that stands the test of time.

To ensure immediate access in high-traffic locations, SARGENT 8200 Series MELR mortise locks deliver quick latch bolt retraction in just half a second with applied power. Designed with versatility in mind, these locks are ideal for push-pull conditions, handicap access, and are perfect for use with automatic operators to facilitate accessibility and ADA compliance.

Accessibility features include optional Request to Exit functionality, adaptable designs for both in-swing and out-swing doors, and compatibility with any access control system. SARGENT 8200 Series MELR mortise locks also feature quiet, efficient operation with low power consumption, reflecting ASSA ABLOY’s commitment to sustainability.

To ensure compliance for the most demanding installations, these locks carry a long list of certifications including ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Grade 1 for superior performance; ANSI/BHMA A156.25; UL/cUL fire rated for 3 Hour Doors; UL294/ULC60839-11-1 Listed; and Windstorm (refer to local codes).
